Hucknall and Linby Dolphins have raised a staggering £1,355 in support of the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance.
The 50 swimmers swam a total of 4,240 lengths which is approximately 66.25 miles in two hours on a Tuesday night training session. This is the equivalent, as the crow flies or Dolphin swims, of swimming to Hull!
The cheque was presented to the Air Ambulance team in September at one of the training sessions.
The event was also part of the Byron Festival and was chosen to commemorate his grand canal swim. A poem being written about the club and Byron’s efforts being entered in the festivals competition.
